Nancy Sims Obituary
LANCASTER - Nancy 'Dale' Sellers Sims, 65, of Lancaster peacefully transitioned to Heaven on Feb. 27, 2022, at The Aldersridge Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, N.C.
Dale was born on Sept. 20, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Legette and Eva Mae (Davis) Sellers of Lancaster.
After graduation from Airport High School, Dale went on to fulfill her lifelong dreams and study nursing. She got her degree as a licensed practical nurse II. Dale was always very passionate about caring for and helping others.
After many years of nursing, she thoroughly enjoyed crafting as in quilts and blankets and also painting. Dale loved the outdoors, such as cooking on the grill, gardening, fishing, racing, watching her grandson play football, or just relaxing under the shade tree talking with family and friends.
She was very passionate and cherished her time with her family and friends. 'Nana' absolutely loved her grandbabies with everything in her – 'they were Nana's world.'
Dale was predeceased by her parents, Harlan Legette and Eva Mae Davis Sellers.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Renee (James) Barrett and her husband Purnell Barrett Jr. of Monroe, N.C.; three grandchildren, Braydon Tyler James, Kayden Isiah James and Destiny Aaliyah Foster of Monroe, N.C; one sister, Theresa Lois (Sellers) Buchanan and Bruce Keith Buchanan of Belton; one niece, Crystal Michelle (Rhodes) Strickland, of Murrells Inlet; and one nephew, Thomas Buchanan of Belton.
Memorial services will be 2 to 4 p.m. March 19 at Lancaster Funeral Home, 709 N. White St., Lancaster.
The family is accepting flowers, and memorial contributions may be made to University of South Carolina School of Medicine's Memorial Garden in remembrance of Nancy Dale (Sellers) Sims at 6311 Garners Ferry Road Columbia, SC 29209.
