He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Nelson Chastain, Sr. and Rebecca Powell Chastain; his son Oscar Nelson Chastain, III; and his siblings, Jake Chastain, Walter Boone "Boonie" Chastain, Robert Boone Chastain, Leander Hudson, Janie Lucille Chastain, Minnie Lee Brooks and Elizabeth "Libby" Edwards.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis M. Chastain; his daughters, Deah Stogner (Brian) and Christina Chastain; and his grandchildren, Douglas, Matthew, Jennifer, Faith and Luna.
