He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dalton Arant and Connie Parker Arant; his son Ray W. Arant, Jr. (Petey); and his siblings, John "Ted" Arant, Joe Ben Arant and Carolyn Parks.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Arant; and his sons, Phillip Arant, Josh Arant (Shelby) and Kaleb Arant (Savannah).
