It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Steve Whitaker of Lancaster, South Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on July 28, 2023, at the age of 42, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his nephew Anson Whitaker; and his grandfathers, Bobby Whitaker and Jim Mahaffey. He is survived by: his parents, Charles Elliott Whitaker and Lynn Mahaffey Whitaker (Johnny); his daughters, Hannah Whitaker and Erica Shrader; his granddaughter Kingsleigh Brunson; his brother Robert Whitaker (Tabitha); his grandmothers, Judy Whitaker and Ruth Mahaffey; the mothers of child, Hannah and Jessica Bax; and his nieces, Raegan Whitaker, Bailey Whitaker and Anslee Whitaker.
