He is survived by: his children, Alysia Stradford of Lancaster, SC and Thomas McSwain of Washington, DC; and his sisters, Frances Robertson of Lancaster, SC and Linda Witherspoon of Lancaster, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
