With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma Ashley of Lancaster, South Carolina, who passed away on April 10, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Fred Eaton and Lily Hooker Eaton; and her siblings, Richard Eaton, Evelyn Pedereo, Lorene Long, Kathleen Gwynn, Frieda Martinez and Marie Church.

She is survived by : her husband Heyward Ashley; and her children, Jody Ashley (Edie) and Amber Ashley. She is also survived by four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Burgess Funeral Home (1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home (1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720). A burial was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at the Osceola United Methodist Church (6575 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720).
