He is survived by: his wife Ronda Schaeffer; his son Scott "Pete" Schaeffer, Jr. Schaeffer (Chassity); his stepchildren, Bobby Mahaffey (Michelle), Jamie Whitaker, Amanda Dobransky (Dean), Angie Owens (David) and Cheryl Whitaker; his grandchildren, Aron, Lilly, Caroline, Kate and Reece; his brother Michael DiVirgilio (Jaclyn); his niece Angelina; and his nephew Nicholas.
