He is survived by: his wife Mary Francise Townsend; his children, Debbie Mentler, Nancy Townsend, Holly Ouellette and John Townsend; his grandchildren, Rachel, Amber, Matthew, Jason, Corey, Erin and Reagan; and his great grandchildren, Layla, Aela, Hudson, Camden, Aubrey and Ethan.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the McFarland Funeral Chapel (54 McFarland Dr, Tryon, NC 28782). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Cooper Veterans Cemetery (140 Inway Dr, Anderson, SC 29621).
