With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kenneth Woodard Sr. of Landrum, South Carolina, who passed away on November 11, 2021 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Kenneth Woodard Sr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Andrew and Mae Elizabeth Herron Woodard; and his siblings, Lon Woodard, Pauline Laney and BrittaLee Carpenter.

He is survived by: his wife Irene Good Woodard; his children, Kenneth Edward Woodard, Jr., June Wilson (Tommy), Joyce Hannah (Victor) and Joan Moon (Brian); and his sister Judy Melton. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ham Radio Repeater Fund, c/o Randy Johnston, PO Box 1262, Mars Hill, NC 28754.

But none surpass the memory of his simple, kind nature and desire to serve his friends and community. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace and joy.”

“So sorry I only learned of the memorial service Sunday night - too late. I would have been there if I had known earlier. Ken was a great man, and a friend to everyone. I can't think of anyone who did more to serve amateur radio in Western North Carolina. His longtime friend Norman Harrill N4NH probably comes close.
