She was predeceased by: her parents, William Garfield and Geneva Ramsey Chapman; her husband Homer Newton; her sons, Billy Spurgeon Butler, Jr. and Ronald Dennis Butler; and her granddaughter Haylee Seres.
She is survived by: her children, Scott Newton (Sarah), Debbie Seres (Alan), Janice McCraw (Tom) and Linda Garland (Johnny); and her siblings, W. G. "Sonny" Chapman, Jr. (Barbara) and Doris Simmons (Clarence). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
