It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald H. Lane of Latta, South Carolina, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Gerald departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gerald may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gerald leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parent Bertha Lane. He is survived by: his wife Gail Williams Lane; his children, Deborah Bryant (Jimmy) of Marion, Geraldine Lane (William) of Latta, Linda Bailey (Elden) of North Carolina and Rocky Lane (Lynn) of Lake View; and his pet Cutie Pie. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (7231 Old Ebenezer Rd, Latta, SC 29536). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
