She was predeceased by: her parents, Lyman Thomas and Varna Hamric Buckner; her daughter Nancy Ward Allen; and her sister Bette Smith Hood. She is survived by: her son Robert E. Ward of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Michael Allen, Chris Allen (Savannah), Taylor Allen and Ryan Ward (Nicole); her great grandchildren, Haley, Emily, Aurora, Ellie and Clint; her niece Joyce Gore (Randy); her nephew Dan Smith; her son-in-law Eric Allen; and her caregivers, Patricia Foggie (family: Henry, Ziyah, Ace), Jessie Pulley and Beverly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Holman-Headland Mortuary (305 S Main St, Headland, AL 36345). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Midland City Cemetery.
