He was predeceased by: his mother Mildred Porter; his brothers, Phillip (Martha) and Gordon (Lola); and his daughter Pam Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Myra of Laurens; his sister Marie Toole of Canton; and his sons, Jeff Porter Barb (Nancy) and Dennis Porter (Michelle).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missions for Lakewood Family Church, 3915 Hwy 72-221 East, Greenwood, SC 29649.
