He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Edwin and Betty Sawyer Kirby; and his brother James "Jimmy" E. Kirby. He is survived by : his daughters, Leigh Kirby Hanke (Michael) of Spartanburg and Pamela Kirby Williams of Laurens; his sister Marcy Kirby McCall (Marvin) of Laurens; his sister-in-law Myra Kirby of Woodruff; his grandchildren, Kirby Coxie (Tyler), Anderson Hanke, Abigail Hanke and Cole Burton; and his great grandchildren, Dawson Coxie and Addison Coxie.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (765 E Main St, Laurens, SC 29360). Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
