He was predeceased by : his parents, Alex Jones and Viola Rice Jones. He is survived by : his wife Emma J. Jones; his children, John F. Jones (Wanda), Toni Terry (Mark), Lisa Owens (Elton) and Tammy Bailey (Corey); and his siblings, Maureece Jones, Willie Thomas Jones, Clyde Jones and Jessie Cauthen. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (1448 Cain Rd, Laurens, SC 29360).
