He was predeceased by: his brother Justin Cathcart; and his grandparents, Karen Frailey, Jim Kennedy, Jimmy Padgett and Calvin Wilson.
He is survived by: his parents, Jamie Padgett (Jennifer) of Gray Court and Karen Smoak (Thomas) of Key West, FL.; his siblings, David Padgett (Angela), Adam Cathcart (Samantha), NiKole Brooks and Hannah Cathcart; his siblings' children, Walker Padgett, Kilian Cathcart, Tate Cathcart and Emerson Cathcart; his stepsiblings, Joshua Owens, Hunter Owens and Kelsey Owens; his cousin Sarah Jones; and his grandmother Barbara Salisbury. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home of Laurens (500 W Main St, Laurens, SC 29360). The military honors was held on Friday, January 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Community Chapel (18284 SC-101, Gray Court, SC 29645).
