It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherry Rae Burgess of Laurens, South Carolina, who passed away on June 11, 2025, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Sara Powell Burgess. She is survived by: her father Howard Edward "Junior" Burgess, Jr. of Laurens; her stepmother Linda Burgess; her siblings, Helena Sisk (Phillip) and Edward Burgess (Stacey); and her nieces and nephews, Carmen Sisk, Myranda McLeod (Colin), Kaitlin Burgess (Bradley Barber), Madison Burgess (Bradley Bonds), Madilyn Barber, Stetson Barber and Lilah McLeod. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kennedy Mortuary & Crematory (606 W Main St, Laurens, SC 29360). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church (885 State Rd S-30-82, Laurens, SC 29360).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Laurens County.
