He was predeceased by: his parents, John Washington and Elizabeth Busbee Oswald; his wife Mary Giresi Oswald; his son-in-law Dr. Elza S. "Sandy" Spradley, Jr.; and his siblings, Eunice Smith, Gertrude Norris, John Fletcher, Elmer, James and Clyde Oswald.

He is survived by: his family, Rose Marie Hall (Bob) and Diane Spradley. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.Org).
