She was predeceased by: her parents, Beulah Patterson and William B. Patterson Sr.; her husband Leon Dates; the father of her children C. Norman Getty; her siblings, William B. Patterson Jr. and Eleanor Turnbull; and her granddaughter Laura Beth Getty.

She is survived by: her children, Debbie Engle (Dan), Karen Leonhardt (Charles) and Kevin Getty (Marcia); her stepdaughter Linda Ulmann; and her grandchildren, David Getty (Whitney), Connor Leonhardt, Taylor Getty, Rachel Williams (Chris), Patrick Leonhardt (Courtney), Patrick Engle (Kailey), Amy Barnhill (Eric), Scott Ulmann (Chani) and Lindsay Radosta (Joe). She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews.
