He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Vance and Clara Frances Rish Padgett; his spouse Bobbie Jean Miller Padgett; and his daughter Ann P. Jackson. He is survived by: his sons, Doug Padgett (Mary) of Leesville and Greg Padgett (Kendrean) of Leesville; his grandchildren, Christopher Jackson and Meg Padgett (Austin Lown); his son Logan Padgett; and his sister Linda Harmon (Carlisle) of Leesville.
