She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Donald and Sally Kirksey Robertson Meetze; and her husband Bobby Ray Kirkland. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Michael Todd Kirkland, Rick Kirkland (Clift Shealy) and Bridget Angela Kirkland Havird (Rick); and her granddaughter Hannah Elizabeth Kirkland.

“Although she was my Stepmother, Mom was a wonderful part of my life in what seems to have been, fortunately, forever. G-d blessed us both by reconnecting us after far, far too many years. While I never knew my own Mother, Mom filled that role perfectly, and lovingly, for these many, many years. I finally understand when people say "She's in a better place" because she truly is. She leaves a major hole in my heart which is now filled with incrediblly, wonderful memories.”
