He was predeceased by: his parents, L. J. Long and Rosa Bell "Sue" Taylor Long; his sister Diane Hooper; and his grandson Tom Steele. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Cox Long; his daughters, Theresa Long Taylor, Kathy Long Burkett (Rex) and April Long Waters (Timmy); his brother Bobby Long (Debbie); his grandchildren, Jessica Steele, James Taylor (Kelli), Justin Taylor (Natalie), Brandon Hall (Hannah), Matthew Hall (Haley), Kayla Wilmoth (Cody), Chris Waters, Kassie Cannington (C. J.) and Ashlee Burkett; and his great grandchildren, Bryce Taylor, Maggie Taylor, Emit Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Oliver Hall, Madelyn Hall, Charlotte Hall and Lawton Cannington.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Calvary Baptist Church (2320 Cedar Grove Rd, Leesville, SC 29070). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at the First Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery (2320 Cedar Grove Rd, Leesville, SC 29070).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Calvary Baptist Church Food Pantry, 2320 Cedar Grove Road, Leesville SC 29070, where he enjoyed working for the community.
