With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Shealy Schumpert of Leesville, South Carolina, who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Shirley leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Melton Shealy and Myrtle Warren Shealy; her husband Richard Henry Schumpert; her son Michael Schumpert; and her brothers, Bobby and Larry Shealy.
She is survived by: her son Danny Schumpert; her grandchildren, Masson Schumpert and Connor Schumpert; and her sister Brenda Stalvey (C. W.). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Milton Shealy Funeral Home (115 N Pine St, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29006). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Concord Baptist Church (860 N Lee St, Leesville, SC 29070).
