He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodward W. Matthews and Rosa Lee McCarty Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Hendrix Matthews; his children, Tania Matthews and William L. Matthews; his brother Keith Matthews (Beth); and his siblings-in-law, Aubrey Hendrix (Meade), June Mabus (Robert) and Kent Hendrix.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Milton Shealy Funeral Home (115 N Pine St, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29006). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
