He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Toy and Mildred Louise Ward Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Cockrell Thompson; his children, Jeffery Scott Zirger (Elaine) and Billie Jo Zirger; his grandchildren, Sara "Sadie" Alice Runge (Tracy), Val Runge and Boykin Spaniel; and his pet Shirt. He is also survived by many loving in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
