He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottie Breland Nix and Corrie Mae Chitty Nix; his wife Mary Claire Dukes Nix; his son Ottie Clifford Nix, Jr.; and his siblings, Effie Mae Nix Delk and Russell W. Nix.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Nix Dorsey of Lexington, SC and John Clifford Nix (Dru McPherson) of Gilbert, SC; his grandchildren, Megan Claire Dorsey of Lexington, SC, Joseph McArthur Nix (Chyanne) and Philip John Nix of Charleston, SC; his great grandchild Kaylie Rose Nix; his siblings, Joyce Baxley of Beech Island, SC, John Nix (Sandra) of North Charleston, SC, David "D. K." Nix (Carolyn) of Wilmington, NC and Gene Nix (Nell) of Elko, SC; and his sister-in-law Virginia "Ginny" Nix of Williston, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
