He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. Buford and Clatie Newby Buford. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Buford (Chris) of Georgia, Jamie Hypes (Doug) of Texas and Jason Buford of Columbia; his girlfriend Gloria Thompson of Lexington; and his sisters, Donna Rozier (Don) of Lexington and Candy Popalisky (Michael) of North Carolina. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, # 301, Cayce, SC 29033; St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the charity of one's choice.
