He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Walter Altus and Adeline Catherine Deiterman Altus; and his brothers, Robert Wayne Altus and Randall Joseph Altus. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hunter Wood Altus; his children, Jody Altus Westcott (Rick Mondy), Troy Altus and Jared Altus (Georgia); his siblings, Mark Altus (Bonnie), Mary Britt and Cecilee McPheeters; and his grandsons, William Westcott IV, Jack Westcott, Ford Westcott, Jerren Mondy, Woods Altus, Beckman Altus and Cash Altus.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel (3926 Devine St, Columbia, SC 29205).
