He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Martens and Dorothy Martens; his stepmother Marian; his wife Susan; and his brothers, John, Peter and Christopher.
He is survived by: his children, Eric, Kirsten (Forest), Ingrid (Jeremy) and Karl (Beth); his grandchildren, Pharon, Nathan (Jen), Jackson, Lorena, Virginia, Karl, Louis and Kaeden; and his sister Margaret.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel (503 N Lake Dr, Lexington, SC 29072).
