He was predeceased by: his father Philip Goings; and his brother Alan Goings. He is survived by: his caregiver Debra Hallman Goings; his children, Vanessa McWhorter (Josh) of Kingston, GA and Travis Goings (Jaclynn) of Chapin, SC; his grandchildren, Lily, Oliva, Lydia McWhorter, Abby Craig and Ruthie Goings; and his brothers, Gerald Goings, Kenny Goings, Paul Goings and Terry Goings. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
