He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Elizabeth Shealy Bowen; his daughters, Debra Sue Bowen and Pam Elaine Bowen Bellemy; and his parents, Eva Ernestine Spires Bowen and Leslie Ben Bowen.
He is survived by: his son Ernest "Ernie" Eugene Bowen (Jaime); his grandchildren, Ernest Benjamin "Ben" Bowen (Allison Hendrix) and Shanea Bowen Corle (Chris); his stepgrandchildren, Kayleigh Adams and Adreana Bilka; and his great grandchildren, Eva Corle, Wiley Corle and Daxton Corle.
