He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher Hartley Sr. and Roxie Kneece Hartley; and his siblings, Gibson, Paul, Denzil Hartley and Lucille H. Quattlebaum.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Craps Hartley of Lexington; his daughter Julie Hartley Wham (George S. Wham, Jr.); his grandchildren, G. Samuel Wham III, Merritt Elizabeth Wham and Preston Middleton Wham of Lexington; and his sisters, Ann H. McDaniel and Marie H. Boatwright. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Thornwell Home for Children, 302 Broad St. Clinton, SC 29325.
