He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Henry Sox and Annie Lou Sox; and his siblings, Wray Sox (Barbara), Jim Sox (Betty Jo) and Ann Alewine (Roger).

He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Bobbie"; and his children, Kimberly Sox and Jonathan Sox (Anita).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lexington Baptist Church Building Renovation Project, 308 E. Main St., Lexington, SC 29072.
