He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Taylor; his children, Lisa Powell and George Taylor, Jr.; and his siblings, Steve Taylor and Linda Boatwright.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Stephanie Lawson (Brandon), Randolph Powell (Tiffanie), Cole Taylor (Caitlyn), Caroline Crawford (Jason) and Savannah Stewart (Michael); and his siblings, Kathy Lybrand, Elizabeth Summer, Deborah Moore (Walter), Morris Taylor and Randy Taylor (Nancy). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
