She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Owen and Robert Lee Wingate; her child Thomas Chandler Bass; and her siblings, Robert Wingate Jr., Carolyn Hyde and Harriet Beckham.
She is survived by: her husband James Roach Bass; her sons, James Hunter Bass (Kim) of Camden, SC and Robert Lee Bass (Terry) of Columbia, SC; her grandsons, Ryan (Victoria), Cameron and Tyler; and her great grandchild Kayden.
