She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilton Shull and Adele Shull; her husband Heber Leroy Smith; her daughters, Hilda Smith and Roshinh Smith; her sister Betty Jane Gantt; and her nephew Edward Swails.

She is survived by: her daughter Denise S. Malejko (Louis); her granddaughter Elizabeth M. Scott (Wesley); and her sister Sarah Anderson.
