He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Brown and Catherine Brown; his siblings, John J. Brown, Harry L. Brown, Charles F. Brown, Louis "Sonny" Brown, Jr., Jessie Cusick and Betty Postles; and his children, Tracy Brown Eckloff and Joseph "Joey" Brown Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Carol Bolton Brown; his sisters, Adele Morrow and Alice Raugh; his children, Tammy Doswell (David), John Lester (Michelle) and Barbara Lester; his grandchildren, David Doswell (Jessica), Stephen Doswell (Lauren), Robert Lester, Josh Lester, Joseph "Wayne" Roberts, Storme Brown, Raine Lester and Carson Lester; his great grandchildren, Avery, Noah and Chase; and his caregivers, J. B. Dorn, Stacy Johnson and Sheila Miller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
