He was predeceased by: his parents, Gideon Templeton and Fannie Templeton; his son Benny Templeton; and his sisters, Marion Wadford and Thelma Latham.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Templeton; his children, Joe Templeton, Jr. (Jan) of Blackville, SC, Joseph Templeton (Peggy) and Diana Atteberry (Stan) of Barnwell; his grandchildren, Stephanie Davis (Jason) of Barnwell, Christina Collins (Bobby) of Aiken, Rebecca Chavis (Trey) of Barnwell, Abby Causey of Bluffton, Jedd Templeton (Mary) of Denmark and Jill DiNunzio (David) of Sullivan's Island; and his siblings, Truett Templeton (Cloe) of Columbia, Betty Owens (Jerry), Nellie Bodenhamer (Larry) of Pelion and Mary Weatherford (Bill) of Charleston.
