He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wheler Matthews and Lottie Lucas Matthews. He was also cherished by his four daughters; eight grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc. (821 N Main St, Sumter, SC 29150). Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Missionary Church (219 S Washington St, Sumter, SC 29150).
