With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Kathy Evelyn O'Brien of Lexington, South Carolina, born in Capron, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Kathy left this world on July 18, 2025 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lisle Wire and Marjorie Wire (Wesson); and her husband Ed O'Brien. She is survived by: her daughter Peggy Crooker (Dwayne); her grandchildren, Dwayne Crooker II, Ashley Geddes (John), Samantha Henderson (Anthony) and Brenden LaFleur; her great grandchildren, Anthony James Henderson and Gunner Gerard Henderson; and her siblings, Ken Wire (Kimberly), LaVonne Catron (Richard), Nancey Huber, Linda Wire, Diane Feldman and Lili Floyd. She is also survived by brothers and sisters- in laws and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service (203 Logan Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Orth Cemetery (1121 N Main St, Belvidere, IL 61008).
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
