With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Loretta Nickels Meetze (Lexington, South Carolina), born in Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claire Pound Nickels and Claude A. Nickels; and her siblings, Andy Nickels of Lexington, Ernest Nickels of California and Baby Grace.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Meetze (Tammie) of Lexington and Kimberley Meetze (Murray Blume) of West Columbia; her sister Sarah Meetze (Joe) of Irmo; her sister-in-law Suzanne Nickels of Lexington; her grandchildren, Drew Meetze, Dylan Meetze, Sarah Mathis and Lawton Mathis; her sibling's children, Joy Brewer, Nicholas Brewer, Eric Nickels, Leah Nickels, Aspen Alexander, Lily Nickels and Ava Dockery; and her friends, Carolyn and Harold Benson of Texas. She is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
As a longtime donor to St. Jude and lover of all children, she would be pleased if, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
