It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Jean Smith Thompson (Lexington, South Carolina), born in Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Virden Smith and Queenie Williams Rish; her siblings, Shirley Anne Smith, Frank O. Smith, Thomas L. Smith and Willie L. Smith; and her grandmother Jean.
She is survived by: her children, Ed Lundeen (Linda), Debbie McCarthy, Tommy Pruitt (Jan), Robbie Pruitt (Sara) and Danny Pruitt (Josephina); and her grandchildren, Kelli Chavis, Eddie Lundeen of Laura Lundeen, T. J, Dylan Pruitt, Emily Pruitt, Tyler Pruitt, Tanner Pruitt and Daniel Pruitt, Jr..
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel (609 Northwood Rd, Lexington, SC 29072). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Baptist Church (416 Denham Ave, West Columbia, SC 29169). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 1600 W E Jeffcoat Rd, Pelion, SC 29160.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Grace Baptist Church Food Pantry 416 Denham Ave. West Columbia, SC 29169.
