Martin Flax Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martin Flax in Lexington, South Carolina, who passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Flax and Rena Flax (Hoffman); his wife Toyomi Shoji; his daughter Diana Flax Hodge; and his brother Herbert Flax.
He is survived by: his sons, Ronald D. Flax of Sumter and Dennis I. Flax of Columbia; his grandchildren, Shawna L. Amick (Allen), Wesley H. Hodge (Melanie) and Daniel M. Hodge; his great grandchildren, Ashleigh Amick and Braeden Amick; his sister Davida Seatter; his sister-in-law Patricia McDanald-Flax; and his close friend Salvatore "Sal" DiCola (Martin).
Martin requested that in lieu of flowers or remembrances, donations be made in his memory to The Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
