She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy William Tollison and Ruth Mae Ledford Tollison of Union; her son Johnathan; and her siblings, Charles Tollison and Marcelle Douglas.

She is survived by: her husband Thomas Alton Caldwell; her children, Tommy Caldwell (Wendy), Beverly Starling (Charles), Lewis Caldwell (Danita), Cindy Stankewich (Louis) and Marianna Boyce (Gerry); and her grandsons, Wesley Starling, Shelton Starling, Benjamin Caldwell, Chris Caldwell, Michael Caldwell and Cody Boyce. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
