Nellie Gainey Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nellie Gainey of Lexington, South Carolina, who passed away on February 27, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Christian Leon Whitten and Nettie Chalmers Whitten; her husband Larry Gainey; her son-in-law Mitch Poston; her great grandchild Benjamin Poston; and her siblings, George Whitten, Billy Whitten, Earl Whitten, Homer Whitten, Bobby Whitten, Wayne Whitten and Doris Reaves.

She is survived by : her daughters, Janice Poston, Angel Clark (Jeff) and April Holcombe (Steve); her grandchildren, Benjie Poston (Crystal), Brandon Poston, Corey Holcombe (Hollie), Holly Holcombe, Kelly Holcombe, Tyler Clark (Samantha) and Jessye Clark Dearinger (Zak); and her siblings, Vivian Shull (Carroll), Betty Morris Chris Thelen (Randy) and Jim Whitten. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in Nell's memory to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in West Columbia.
