He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Morgan Calvitt; his parents, Percy McRee and Polly Onley Calvitt; his daughter Janice Calvitt; and his siblings, Claude, Margie Woods, Nina Sharpe, Annie Lou Morgan, Martha Ann Calvitt, Emma Calvitt, Alice Morgan and Mary Ellen Hamilton.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Spires (Rick), Preston Calvitt (Bonnie) and Jennifer Pierce (Lee); his brother Samuel Calvitt; his grandchildren, Morgan Spires and Marie Blackwell; and his pet Miss Ellie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
