She was predeceased by: her parents, James Artist Shumpert and Blanche Roof Shumpert; her husband Arthur Russell Ethridge; her daughter Angela Laffoday; her grandson Jason Ethridge Laffoday; and her siblings, Minnie Kireta, Marcella Jeffcoat, Barbara Ann Williamson, James W Shumpert, Joseph A Shumpert, Allen Jerry Singleton Shumpert, Elaine Dominguez, Emma Napier and Bernice Ochoa.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melody Bailes (Joe) and Patricia Ethridge (Marvin); her grandchildren, Russell Crowell (Cyreeta), Emily Cothran (Eric), Thomas Martin, Benjamin Lee Laffoday (Lisa), Ashley Escue (Caleb) and Katy Bailes (Bob); her great grandchildren, Issaic Benitez, Donovan Crowell, Ryan Escue, RJ Flemming, Ethan Crowell, Roran Escue, Caiden Flemming, Bobby Morgan and Jude Morgan; and her sister Dorothy Blakey of Jonesboro, GA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great- nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Shumpert Family Cemetery.
