He is survived by: his daughter Melanie Brinkley Bateman; his close friend Debbie Wooten Taylor; his siblings, Elizabeth Brinkley English (Gordon) and Stephen Corbett Brinkley; his siblings-in-law, Sara Delphine Scarborough, Virginia Ann Scarborough Hollifield (David) and William Barron Scarborough (Elizabeth "Beth"); his siblings' children, Elizabeth English Cody (Troy), Philip Harden English (Emily), Robert Sanders Hogan (Kristen), Margaret Hollifield Nevergoll (Alec), Mary Scarborough Moore (Justin), Nancy Scarborough Bowers (Brett) and Joseph William Scarborough; his friends, Jennings Badie Duncan, III and Sharon Nicholson; Spike.
