She was predeceased by: her parents, Mid McCarty and Cassie Goff McCarty; her husband Woodward W. Matthews; and her siblings, Paul McCarty, Ruth Corley, Elsie Berry and Inez Steele.
She is survived by: her sons, Thurmond Matthews (Darlene) and Keith Matthews (Beth); and her sister Anna G. Lott. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
