He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Maxey and Mary Ellen Sox; his wife Helen Taylor Sox; his siblings, Melba Arnold, John Sox, Grace Hannon, Thomas Sox, Jane Amaker, Billy Sox, Russell Sox and Allen Sox; and his stepson Gene Gunter.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy House (Lin) of Gilbert, Robert Sox of Columbia, Tim Sox (Cheryl) of West Columbia and Scott Sox of Lexington; his grandsons, Cody Sox (Dora) of Gaston, Luke Sox of Lexington and Cooper Sox (Callie) of West Columbia; his great grandchildren, Rowan Sox and Roy Sox; his stepsons, Greg Gunter (Dianne) and Dewey Gunter (Elaine); his siblings, Joyce Smith (David), Carol Ann Sox and Larry Sox (Charlene); and his sister-in-law Alice Sox.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. David Lutheran Church (132 St Davids Church Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the St. David Lutheran Church Cemetery (132 St Davids Church Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beulah Methodist Church of Gilbert or the Parkinson's Foundation.
